Makoto Shinkai’s Kimi no Na wa. Gained 15 Billion Yen

Kimi no Na waMakoto Shinkai’s your name. (Kimi no Na wa.) has gained 15,414,488,300 yen (approximately US $ 148 million), after 52 days in theaters in Japan. This film has sold 11,842,864 tickets. Last Saturday, the film also won the Best Animated Feature Film at the annual event of the 49th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival in Spain.

The movie remains to be the 5th most successful of anime movie in Japan, but still below Ponyo which has gained 15.50 billion yen. The film is also becomes the 6th biggest income movie in Japan.

But, Makoto Shinkai‘s Kimi no Na wa. has surpassed the Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises in 2013 with revenues of 12.02 billion yen.
