Fairy Tail Video Game Review – From PSP to Nintendo DS!

Fairy Tail Video GameFairy Tail video game is developed by Konami and was released into several adaptations for only 2 platforms, PSP (Playstation Portable) and Nintendo DS. Although many players are wishing the game could available for Playstation 4, it seems that the developer itself has not made any decision or plan yet to make that really happen.

Fairy Tail video game itself is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima of the same name which has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine since August 2, 2006. Later, the manga was adapted into anime series produced by A-1 Pictures, Satelight, and Studio Bridge which was broadcast in Japan starting from October 12, 2009, to March 26, 2016. Portable Guild was revealed first at the Tokyo Game Show in 2009. It was announced back then that the game is developed by Konami and would be released on June 3, 2010, for PSP platform. The game itself is an action genre which I really love to play it a lot!

I played this considering it would be similar to the series and truth to be told its extremely same to the series. However, this game is in Japanese and it has almost no English for all of you Fairy Tail fans who are in North America or other countries.

The plot actually follows the manga series, and character can actually get different costumes. Plus you can find other random quests along the way you can perform. I feel that this Fairy Tail video game is really entertaining. But if you are a beginner or just started, you will probably find it a little hard, and try not to use Lucy until she obtains another spirit.

Portable Guild 2 acts as the sequel to the first game, Portable Guild, and was released on June 3, 2010, for Playstation Portable. Just like almost all PSP game, this video game is also a region free.

The video game can be wonderful if you’re a big fan of Fairy Tail. Despite it’s only in Japanese, but it’s really easy to understand how to play. You’re allowed to make your own character to as being a new Fairy Tail wizard. The only drawback is the fact you can not play as original Fairy Tail characters.

This Fairy Tail video game contains the Tower of Heaven and Fighting Festival arcs. I can recommend you to buy and play this video game if you want to make your own character as a Mage, but you must probably choose the previous game or Zeref’s Awakening if you want to play as original characters.

Fairy Tail Fight! Wizard Battle (Gekitou! Madoushi Kessen)

Fight! Wizard Battle or also known as Gekitou! Madouzhi Kessen in Japan is the first Fairy Tail video game released for Nintendo DS. It’s one of the Fairy Tail’s fighting game style along with Attack! Kardia Cathedral.

Just like another Fairy Tail video game, surely this game is also in Japanese but really easy to figure out even if you can’t read it. The game itself is wonderful and entertaining to play. You can be Natsu, Lucy, Gray, or Erza. You are playing through the story as well as several strange side stories.
